Irish Poet Tassel Flower Seedling

Irish Poet Tassel Flower Seedling

Tassel Flower was introduced from Asia in 1799 and was also known as “Flora’s Paintbrush” in Victorian times. The ‘Irish Poet’ tassel flower sports long, wiry stems with small, pompom-like bright orange flowers that form in clusters. They are ideal for naturalistic gardens and grow best in full sun with good drainage. While the more common Tassel Flower (‘Scarlet Magic’) blooms an intense, deep orange-red, ‘Irish Poet’ is more of an unusual and rare variety.

The flowers are suitable as a specialty cut flower, making colorful fillers for summer bouquets.
